OUR STORY

We're Neil and Alex, operators of The Good Lot, our family-owned business.

We have lived in Cedar Park since 2011. As parents to two boys and a fur baby, we're always looking for an ideal spot where the whole family can get out of the house and have fun together — a place with great beer is a bonus! Well, we got tired of looking and driving a ways and decided to just build our dream spot close to home. We wanted to create a neighborhood hangout — a place to kick back, unwind, and enjoy tasty beer, local food, and good company. Neil being the owner of Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers on Whitestone and Alex as a former 1st grade teacher, we have loved being involved in the community. We can't wait to meet more of you.

Cheers!

Neil & Alex

  • WHAT ARE THE GOOD LOT'S POLICIES?
  • DO Y'ALL ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD AND/OR DRINK?
Absolutely not. If it wasn't purchased at The Good Lot or at one of the food trucks, it may not be consumed at The Good Lot, either inside the pavilion or out in the yard. This means NO personal containers or cups, NO ice chests or cooler bags, NO personal beverages, NO outside meals or snacks. The only exceptions to this policy are cake/cupcakes/cookies for celebrations, as well as kids' sippy cups. Please enjoy free water and ice inside at the water stations. Cups provided. For any questions or clarification, please call, email, or ask staff onsite. We take this policy very seriously and may ask you to put outside food or drink away or to leave the premises.
  • DO Y'ALL ALLOW DOGS?
YES! We have a water station with dog bowls and are within a half mile walk from Cedar Bark Park. Just remember to keep watch and clean up after your pet(s). Trash bags are on the side of the building right outside the door to the yard. The city requires dogs to be kept on a leash at all times and to not be allowed on same surfaces as food. So, no tabletop dancing, please! 😉
  • DO Y'ALL DO PRIVATE EVENTS AND/OR LARGE PARTIES?
At this time, we do not rent out TGL for private events. For birthday parties and smaller celebrations, though, it is first come, first served. Feel free to snag and hold some tables till the rest of your party arrives. Please remember that we are a family-owned business — not a public park. The Good Lot is for customers only. Allowed: • Cake or cupcakes for a celebration, the only exception to our "no outside containers, food, or drink" policy. • Some decorations, like table cloths, props, etc. NOT allowed: • Balloons or confetti • Large posters, stands, or signs • Explosives
  • DO Y'ALL TAKE RESERVATIONS?
We are first come, first served. If you have a larger party/celebration, best strategy is to have a few people get to TGL ahead of the rest of your crew to hold some tables. Or you can always bring chairs/blankets for the yard.
  • SO ... WHAT IS THE GOOD LOT?
So glad you asked! We are a family-friendly beer garden and food truck lot with a concession-style bar inside a pavilion-style building, with dining tables, as well as a shaded yard with picnic and fire pit tables. We have a kids' play area, corn hole boards, yard Jenga, misters and fans for when it's hot, fire pits and heaters for when it's cold, free live music three nights a week, and just about anything else you need to sit and enjoy a few pints — responsibly! 🙂 Check out our Happenings page for upcoming and weekly events!
  • WHEN ARE FOOD TRUCKS OPEN?
Food trucks operate within the same hours as The Good Lot, so there's always something to eat. Each food truck is closed one day a week Monday through Thursday. This means no matter when you show up, we have at least three trucks open. Check our Food page for additional food truck information.
  • PARKING. TELL ME ABOUT IT.
We doubled our parking lot in spring 2022, bringing us to 86 spots total. On busy days, like Saturdays and events, you might circle around a few times before finding a spot, so we definitely recommend carpooling or walking when possible. Luckily, we are surrounded by neighborhoods with additional street parking, as well as some public spaces within a 5-10 minute walk. Note: Parking in front of TGL on W New Hope Dr is illegal and may result in a ticket. Please be mindful of city signs — the strip of land between the sidewalk and New Hope is managed by city of Cedar Park.
  • ARE Y'ALL KID-FRIENDLY?
We don't call ourselves a family-friendly beer garden for nothin'! We have a play area in our fenced-in yard that includes playscape equipment. Play at own risk. Kids tend to make friends with other kids in the yard, which is cute to behold. For the enjoyment of all, please be mindful. Supervise your kids and respect the space of others. Thank you!
  • CAN I OPEN A TAB?
    Yes, you can! 😎
  • DO Y'ALL HAVE MERCH OR GIFT CARDS?
We have both! Check out our merch wall by the bar for what's in stock — all items available for purchase at the bar. Just ask one of our friendly staff.
  • I'M A STALL VENDOR OR FOOD TRUCK AND WOULD LIKE TO SELL MY GOODS AT TGL.
Awesome! Please feel free to fill out our Vendor Inquiry Form on Google. For goods other than food, we only work directly with market organizers, e.g., Northside Plant Market.
  • I'M A MUSICIAN OR PART OF A BAND AND WANT TO PERFORM AT THE GOOD LOT.
Sweet! Please feel free to fill out our Music Acts Form on Google. We receive a lot of submissions, so please be patient waiting for a response as we are a family-run business with limited staff to answer inquiries.
  • DO Y'ALL HAVE LIVE MUSIC?
Heck yes, and it's free! We have open mic every Wednesday starting at 6:30 PM, as well as free live music every Friday and Saturday night starting at 7 PM. Be sure to check our calendar for weekend artists, as well as for special event details — we occasionally bring in additional free live music during special events, like Oktoberfest, Mardi Gras, etc.
